The Referees Society of Virginia provides referees for rugby matches in the state of Virginia and surrounding areas. On occasion, referees will have the opportunity to work games in other unions and our union will host referees from other societies. The Society has an Annual General Meeting every July.

Refereeing is a great way to stay involved with rugby one your playing days are behind you OR to get involved with rugby if you don’t want to play. The RSV holds USA Rugby Certification courses to get you introduced to refereeing and onto the pitch.

Referees work together to review each other’s games. On occasion, referees will be reviewed on-site. Through this process, referees will improve and work their way up to higher level games.
